Has your teen been looking for a place where they can simply come as they are? A place to build friendships, ask honest questions, grow closer to Jesus, and just enjoy being with other teens who want the same? That’s exactly why CALLED was created. CALLED is more than another night of class. It’s a monthly gathering where middle and high school students can belong, grow in their faith, share life together, and have fun along the way.
Our second CALLED Gathering will be Sunday, November 1, from 6:30–8:00 p.m. in the SSPP Youth Room for anyone in grades 6-12. No sign-up is needed—just come. We’d love to have you there.
Grades 6-10 are held the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month at Saints Peter & Paul. Grades 6-8 have an open gym from 5:30-5:55pm in the Saints Peter & Paul Gym, and classes are held from 6:00-7:00pm at Saints Peter & Paul Church. Grades 9-10 classes are held 7:15-8:15p at Saints Peter & Paul Church.
Service is an important part of Youth Discipleship, giving young people opportunities to put their faith into action while serving our parishes and local communities. Confirmation students (9th and 10th grade) are required to complete at least 9 Service Hours each year, for a total of 18 by the time of Confirmation. The 9 Service Hours needed are broken into 3 categories:
Mass: participation in Mass (greeting, reading, gifts, cross bearer, music, etc.)
Church: volunteering or attending at events a Church puts on.
Community: volunteering at anything outside of Church within the Community.
Service Opportunities are always listed in the Bulletin each week, listed in the Monthly Newsletter, announced at class, or emailed to the students.
**Middle School students are not required to complete Service Hours, but it is a good habit for them to start!
